Westchester's DiFiore Confirmed as Chief Judge
She was district attorney since 2006.
Westchester resident Janet DiFiore, and former district attorney, was confirmed by the state Senate to become New York’s top state judge.
DiFiore is now the chief judge of the state Court of Appeals, according to an article on lohud.com.

The 60-year-old judge was confirmed by a voice vote.
Cuomo said DiFiore’s confirmation as judge was an exciting step for the state and its residents.

“She has demonstrated unparalleled integrity and independence throughout her career as both a judge and prosecutor,” Cuomo said.
“Her commitment to the highest ethical standards makes her one of New York’s finest public servants,” he said.
Sen. David Carlucci, D-Rockland-Westchester, offered his congratulations to DiFiore.
“This appointment to head our state’s highest court is the culmination of Judge DiFiore’s highly distinguished career in public service,” he said. “I am confident she will work tirelessly to ensure justice for all New Yorkers for years to come.”
