Is Joe Sack misleading the public? Why is Sack the campaign manager for the Republican City Council candidates?
Sack posted a letter on My Rye that appears to me to be misleading at best.
Rye City Council Republican campaign manager Joe Sack posted this on My Rye:
“Certainly, the current Council team’s record of achievement – from hiring a new and honest city manager, to turning things around at Whitby Castle, to finally settling long-standing labor contracts on good terms, to protecting Rye’s interests in connection with proposed large-scale projects at Playland and United Hospital – is something that I’ve been proud to be a part of.”
How do we know the new city manager is honest? Because Sack says so? I think Sack just wanted a yes man and it appears he found one.

Taxpayers paid $100,000 for a nation wide search for a new city manager and Sack hired a guy from Dobbs Ferry where Kristen Wilson also just happened to work. Go figure.
Turning things around at Whitby Castle? I guess Sack forgot to mention that the Rye Golf Club, where the club is still using flawed if not illegal purchasing procedures, still has numerous costly ongoing lawsuits and by the way, the Golf Course was CLOSED all summer.

Settling contracts? The Rye Professional Firefighters have been without a contract for six years!
Speaking of the Fire Department, Sack has refused to address serious safety issues at the RFD including manpower shortages that threatens the lives of our firefighters and the residents.
Playland? Sack was for all the changes until there was a citizens outcry.
United Hospital? Sack missed the boat on opposing this massive project. Perhaps if Sack’s landlord was the developers attorney Sack wouldn’t be opposing this project at all. Is Sack opposing the huge project proposed at 120 Old Post Road? I don’t think so. I wonder who the attorney for that project is?
