1 Seriously Injured In 5-Vehicle Crash: Suffolk Police
A man was taken to Stony Brook Univeristy Hospital, police said.
RONKONKOMA, NY — A Suffolkman was seriously injured in a five-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning, Suffolk police said.
Jermaine Brown was driving a 2015 Honda eastbound on Veterans Memorial Highway when it collided with a 2019 Honda at the intersection of Lakeland Avenue in Ronkonkoma at about 11:50 a.m., police said, adding that Brown’s vehicle then struck a 2010 Jeep in the left turning lane, which sparked a chain reaction involving at least two other vehicles that were also in the turning lane.
Community Ambulance and the Bohemia Fire Department found Brown, a 48-year-old Holtsville resident, "heavily entangled and trapped" inside of his vehicle and it took about 13 minutes to extricate him, according to Jamie Atkinson, Community Ambulance president.
