Trial evidence showed he said he did not regret the killing, only doing it in the house, prosecutors said.

RIVERSIDE, NY — A Rocky Point man was sentenced on Wednesday to 25 years to life in a state prison for shooting a Centereach man execution-style in a drug deal gone bad and then leaving his half-naked body in the woods, Suffolk District Attorney Ray Tierney's office said.

Thirty-four-year-old Justin Lee, who was reported missing Jan. 18, 2022, was last seen alive at the home of Glenn Seejattan’s mother on Mahogany Road in Rocky Point, where Seejattan also lived, prosecutors said.

Ten days after he went missing, the half-naked, frozen body of Lee was found about a half-mile away from Seejattan’s home in the Rocky Point woods. An autopsy revealed Lee was shot in his head and thigh, according to prosecutors.

Within 20 feet of Lee’s body, there were damaged wood moldings that physically matched damage found within Seejattan’s home, and items that were forensically tested, revealed the presence of blood that matched the DNA profile of Lee, prosecutors said.

Lee’s DNA was also found on a wall within Seejattan’s home, according to prosecutors.

A trial witness testified Seejattan admitted he shot and killed somebody in a house on Mahogany Road, which he described as “a drug deal gone bad” and Seejattan later admitted he shot Lee in the head, took his clothes off, wrapped him up in a blanket, and then took him to the woods, prosecutors said.

Seejattan also stated that he did not regret committing the murder but did regret doing it in the house, according to prosecutors.

Tierney said Seejattan's sentence is the price he “must pay for taking the life of another human being.”

“This outcome provides a small measure of justice for the victim and his family, although this defendant will get to serve his sentence in prison while the victim will never see his family and loved ones again,” he added.

Seejattan was convicted last month of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Brooklyn attorney Charles Hochbaum told Newsday that Lee was armed and that Seejattan killed him in self-defense. Seejattan plans an appeal, according to the outlet.

He told the outlet: “My client pleaded not guilty, maintained his innocence, maintained that this was in self-defense, and continues to do so.”

Seejattan killed Lee while out on bail for a separate indictment, in which he was charged with weapon possession.

That case is pending.
