Broadway Avenue Sidewalk Installation Completed

The has completed the project of pouring a brand new, continual sidewalk along the east side of Broadway Avenue in Holbrook, much to the delight of the street's residents.

Patch received an email with a photo gallery from Beth Santagata, a resident with small children who first complained about the lack of sidewalks two years ago.

"I’m happy to report that the long awaited sidewalk is complete," Santagata stated in her email. "Now my neighbors, daughters, and I, can walk safely to school!  I wanted to specifically thank Mr. Eugene Murphy at the Town of Islip’s planning department, who took on my request and promised to fit this in this year’s tight fiscal budget. Thank you so much Mr. Murphy, the town engineers, contractors and all others who helped complete this project."
