Brookhaven Notebook: Town Announces Summer Concert Series

Teams with JVC Broadcasting to produce shows at Amphitheater.

The Town of Brookhaven announced its summer concert series last week.

All concerts will take place at the Brookhaven Amphiteather.

As part of the agreement, JVC Broadcasting will contract out and pay for all performers, production (sound and lighting) in-house security, and all print, television, radio and internet advertising, according to the town.

JVC will also contract with a major concessionaire to provide food and beverage service at each event. The Town will receive a guaranteed fee of $12,000 each for five events, and $2.50 for every ticket sold, the town said.

“The Brookhaven Amphitheater is an asset to the Town and we are happy to be working with JVC Broadcasting to provide a wide variety of great family entertainment for our residents to enjoy,” said Brookhaven Supervisor Mark Lesko. “This agreement gives us the chance to not only present a schedule of shows at no cost to the Town, we also expect to realize some revenue which is quite different from the business models of the past.”
