DWAI Charge After Driver Flees Crash In Holbrook: Police
The man was involved in a car crash then the car he was driving struck a sign on Patchogue-Holbrook Road, Suffolk police said.
HOLBROOK, NY — A 23-year-old Centereach man was charged with driving while impaired and leaving the scene of an accident after he was involved with two car crashes on Friday, Suffolk police said.
Matthew Decoursey was driving a 1992 Ford Mustang that was involved in a crash with another vehicle on Express Drive South at Patchogue-Holbrook Road at about 10:30 a.m., said police, adding that the person driving the other car was not injured.
Decoursey left the crash scene and a short time later, his car struck a sign on Patchogue-Holbrook Road at Furrows Road and he ran away, police said. He was arrested a short time later on Main Street in Holbrook and he ended up being taken to Long Island Community Hospital for evaluation, according to police.

He was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash, driving while ability impaired by drugs, and resisting arrest, police said.
