DWI For Suffolk Man After His Vehicle Crashes Into Patrol Car, Hurting Officer: Police

His vehicle crossed in front of a marked patrol car and struck it; the officer was taken to St. Charles Hospital, police said.

SELDEN, NY – A Selden man was charged with driving while intoxicated Sunday morning after Suffolk police say his vehicle crashed into an officer’s patrol car.

Jose Padilla Sanchez, 31, was driving a 2016 Honda at the intersection of Magnolia Place and Middle Country Road in Selden when it crossed in front of a marked Suffolk police unit and struck it at around 7 a.m., according to police.

The officer was taken to St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

Padilla Sanchez was not injured in the crash, according to police.
