Here are the top three stories in Sachem today:

  1. Police are looking for suspects who stole jewelry in a Selden home burglary. Two people burglarized a home on Adirondack Drive on Oct. 2 around 5 p.m. Jewelry and a gold ring engraved with the date 9/7/07 and the letter "S," and a ring with the name "Veronica" written in script were stolen. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. There is a photo of the ring in the link. (Sachem Patch)
  2. A LI gang member was arrested for selling counterfeit pills. Fernando "Pablo" Cooper planned to sell pills made to look like Percocet, as well as 30-milligram oxycodone pills, between December 2021 and July 2022, federal prosecutors say. Cooper sold numerous fake pills to a person in Bohemia in July and days later a raid on his home brought police to more drugs. Cooper was a member of the Hit Squad street gang. Learn more about the arrest and charges in the link. (Patch)
  3. A 60-year-old woman was saved in Holtsville by first responders. Police were called just before 6 p.m. Thursday night for a woman suffering from cardiac arrest inside her home on Mews Court. When police arrived, the woman was unresponsive and found without a pulse. Police were able to use an Automatic External Defibrillator and revive her. (Sachem Patch)
