Makes anti-Israeli remarks and haunts homepage of site early Monday.

Web hackers posted an anti-Israel cartoon on the Sachem Public Library website Tuesday.

The cartoon portrays an Israeli boy with a gun in his pocket and an Arab boy with a slingshot.

"My father told me that you Arabs are evil terrorist animals," the Israeli boy says in the cartoon.

The library, which said its IT department removed the cartoon immediately, said it is not certain if the cartoon is a response to the Israeli raid of a Turkish aid ship.

"As soon as our IT department was made aware of the problem, the library web page was restored," said Carol Brand, the library's assistant director, in a statement. "Our IT people are doing everything possible to minimize this happening again."

"I am outraged that there is antisemitic behavior in my community," said Adrienne Wilber, a resident of Holtsville. "I also find it very upsetting that it is so easy to hack the Sachem Library computer."

Suffolk County Police is investigating the incident.
