Lake Ronkonkoma Man Dies After Crashing Into Tree

A Lake Ronkonkoma man was killed in a single-car crash in Lake Ronkonkoma Friday evening, police said.

According to police, John Grega, 52, was driving his 1999 Chevrolet Van westbound on Oaklake Lane when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree.

Grega was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed or have information on this crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
