Musical Event Tonight Planned For Maria Michta

U.S. Olympian racewalker and Sachem alum Maria Michta will be the honorary guest of The Long Island Blues Society as they host a special offer for fans who want to come out and meet her.

The Randy Oxford Band, a Seattle-based blues act, will be performing tonight at Bobbique on Main Street in Patchogue. From 6 to 9 p.m., all those who arrive at the door and mention Maria's name will not have to pay the $10 cover charge. Members of the Long Island Blues Society will also get in for free.

Randy Oxford, whom the band is named after, is a life-long blues and jazz musician who incorporates the trombone into the guitar-oriented blues genre. The band takes the stage at 8 p.m.
