Police: Farmingville Man Drove High on Drugs With 2-Year-Old Son in Car
Man arrested Tuesday night in Brentwood.

A Farmingville man was arrested Tuesday night after police say he was driving while high on drugs with his 2-year-old son in his car.
According to police, Richard O’Donnell, 32, was driving a 2005 Suzuki west on Express Drive North near the intersection of Wicks Road in Brentwood at 7:45 p.m. when police officer Louis DiRosso stopped him for failing to maintain his lane of travel.
Police said O’Donnell was determined to be under the influence of drugs. He was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while ability impaired by drugs with a child 15 years old or younger–a felony under Leandra’s Law–driving while ability impaired by drugs, second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and endangering the welfare of a child. O’Donnell was also issued four citations for vehicle and traffic law violations, police said.

O’Donnell was being held at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
