Register for Sachem East Kid Wrestling Program
Sign up on November 14 and 15 at the high school.
The Sachem East Wrestling Club will be holding registration for the 2011-2012 Kid & Middle School Wrestling Club season this month.
The wrestling program offers three different instructional levels.
1. RED Level Team (beginner): The red team will be for all wrestlers in grades K-2. This team will practice for one hour two times per week. The Red Team registration will be Monday, November 14 and Tuesday, November 15 from 6-7 p.m. The Red Team’s first practice will be Sat. December 3 from 9-10 a.m. The Red Team coach will be Mike O’Hehir. The main focus will be a fun introduction to wrestling.

2. BLACK & GOLD Level Team (intermediate/advanced): The Black & Gold team will consist of all wrestlers in grades 3-5. The Black & Gold Team’s first practice will be Monday, November 14 at 7 p.m. You must register prior to practicing. Registration will be open from 6-7 p.m. before practice. The main focus will be an introduction to wrestling and preparation for competition. Black & Gold Team coaches will be Mike Matlat, Steve Spiegeleire, and Al Bertolone.
3. Middle School Future Champs (advanced): The Future Champs team will consist of all wrestlers in grades 6-8. The Future Champ’s first practice will be Tuesday, November 15 at 7 p.m.. You must register prior to practicing. Registration will be open from 6-7 p.m. before practice.

The regular school season for Sagamore and Sequoya is late winter and will run from January 23 to March 24. This club is designed to prepare them for their school season. The main focus will be preparing the wrestlers to compete in meets and tournaments. This team will be coached by Jim Holmgren, Pat Luba, Sean O’Hara, and Dave Cruz.

When: Monday, November 14 & Tuesday, November 15 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Outside the Sachem East wrestling room … Enter the building across from the football field through the doors on the ground level to the left of the large steps.
