Happy Monday, Sachem! Here's everything you need to know about what's happening around town today.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and milder. High: 51 low: 39.

Here are the top stories today in Sachem:

  1. Plane makes emergency landing at MacArthur Airport Sunday. A single engine Cessna plane had to make an emergency landing Sunday after reporting possible engine problems. This happened at 2 p.m., and both passengers on the plane were unharmed. (Sachem Patch)
  2. Fire breaks out in Holbrook home Sunday morning. A fire broke out in a home at an Alphabet Street home, police reported. All occupants of the home were able to escape the home and it is unknown at this time how the fire started. (Sachem Patch)
  3. Sachem weekly weather forecast looks beautiful. Spring is now less than ten days away, and the weather forecast is finally starting to represent that. After the brutal cold Saturday into Sunday, things turn around Monday all the way through the weekend. Expect beautiful temperatures throughout the week with Friday capping out in the mid 60s!   4. Brookhaven man critically injured in pickup truck crash on LIE. John Parente was driving his 2007 Ford pickup truck Sunday heading westbound when he veered off the road, struck a tree and flipped. Officers from the Emergency Services Section and members of the Ronkonkoma Fire Department worked together to remove him from the truck. He was transported to Stony Brook Hospital listed in critical condition. (Sachem Patch)
