First, today's weather:
A.M. showers, then a shower. High: 62 low: 51.
Here are the top 3 stories today in Sachem:
- Daily look at the biggest stories on Long Island. Take a look at the biggest stories happening on Long Island early this week in a video recap. Patch editor Jerry Barmash was joined by Lee Silberman from Habitat for Humanity. Check out the video in the link. (Facebook)
- Sachem Public Library to hold job fair Wednesday. The event will run from 10 a.m. until noon and dozens of companies will be in attendance. You must register online beforehand. Northwell Health, Amazon, Splish Splash are among the many companies that will be in attendance. (Subscription: Newsday)
- ICYMI: Ronkonkoma woman's four dogs rescued from burning home. Thanks to quick thinking from veteran Suffolk Auxiliary Police Captain Jamorn Chindananta, a woman's four dogs are alive and well today. When Chindananta noticed smoke coming from his neighbor's home Sunday morning, he rushed over and found a woman in the garage, but the dogs were still in the house. The captain's quick thinking brought the woman and four dogs out to safety before the home was fully engulfed in flames. Multiple agencies responded to extinguish the fire. (Sachem Patch)
