🌱 Sachem Daily: Easter Egg Hunt + LI Boozy Instagram Posts

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sachem.

(Patch Media)

Morning, neighbors! It's me again, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Sachem Daily.

First, today's weather:

Warmer with clouds and sun. High: 60 low: 44.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Sachem:

  1. Easter egg trail hunt planned in Farmingville Hills on April 9. Looking to bring the family to an easter egg hunt this year? The first ever egg hunt in Farmingville Hills is planned for April 9 at Farmingville Hills County Park. "The hunt will feature educational, history-based clues that will guide families to each Easter Egg Trail stop where there will be a hunt. Children will collect a certain number of colored eggs and the last stop will be at the 1850 Historic Bald Hill Schoolhouse. Children will recycle their plastic Easter eggs in exchange for a special gift, as well as take a picture with the Easter Bunny." (Sachem Patch)
  2. LI Neighborhoods rank in top 25 boozy Instagram posts during COVID-19, according to Rehabs.com. The site that offers drug and alcohol rehab treatment across the country did a study based off Instagram tags and posts. They looked at all posts containing anything alcohol related in New York. Twelve Long Island neighborhoods scored in the top-25 in NY, with Huntington coming in the highest at number 3 in the state. "The study was carried out to gauge how lockdowns and social distancing affected people's consumption of alcohol in each town and city because often, "a high amount of alcohol-related social media posts suggests a problematic relationship with alcohol," a Rehabs.com spokeswoman wrote in an email. 3. ICYMI: Brookhaven Town partnering with Dime Bank to help residents dispose of documents and prescription drugs. The town will offer 12 different options and times in the coming months for residents to recycle. Their documents will be put in an industrial shredder and residents can watch them be safely destroyed. Prescription drugs will be disposed of safely in a way that doesn't hurt the environment. You can click the link to see dates and times when you can dispose of your items. (Sachem Patch)
