Here are the top 3 stories today in Sachem:

  1. Water emergency extended from East End to all of Suffolk County on Friday. The Suffolk County Water Authority sent out an alert Friday afternoon asking residents to stop all irrigation from 12 to 7 a.m., as well as refrain from all non-essential water usage. The emergency was declared due to the severe drought and a need for sufficient water for emergency purposes. (Sachem Patch)
  2. Altercation at Centereach Gas station leads to stabbing. A 49-year-old man was stabbed 11 times by a jogger after an altercation at the Shell Gas Station on Middle Country Road. 18-year-old Matthew Ulloa was arrested and faces multiple charges after the incident. You can read the full report on what happened in the link. (Sachem Patch)
  3. Police looking for man who swiped credit cards from a car in Ronkonkoma. The man then used the cards at a Home Depot in Hempstead and left in a dark pickup truck. There is a photo of the man in the link and if you have information, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Sachem Patch)
