Here are the top stories today in Sachem:
- Man fixing car on LIE Service Road dies in hit-and-run. Two men were struck in Holtsville while working on their car Wednesday night. Ryan Walker and Robert Kehlembeck were working on a 1989 Ford F-150 outside of Walker's home when they were struck by a vehicle. They were both taken to Stony Brook Hospital where Walker was pronounced dead and Kehlembeck was treated for serious injuries. The driver fled the scene and police are looking for the suspect. - Your weekend weather report. The weather has finally got to the average temperature for this time of year, but this weekend is not looking too promising in terms of sunshine. Expect cloudy skies Friday, rain possible Saturday, and mostly cloudy skies on Sunday. Temperatures will stay in the upper 60s all weekend. (Weather.com)
- ICYMI: Patchogue Beer Fest returns bigger and better this year. The second annual Spring Beer Fest will take place at Burgerology from 2 to 6 p.m. and now have 50 breweries for craft beer enthusiasts. "We have expanded the fest this year — we will be featuring many of your favorite local breweries and some regional favorites. Grab a commemorative cup and get to sampling any of over 50 confirmed breweries, distilleries and vendors," the event page reads. (Patch)
