The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sachem.

Hello, friends! It's Monday in Sachem and I'm back in your inbox to get you caught up on all the most important things happening in the community today.
First, today's weather:
A severe afternoon t-storm. High: 88 low: 69.
Here are the top 3 stories today in Sachem:
- Weather will finally cool down this week. After a brutal heat wave which saw either a heat advisory or air quality alert in place every day last week, strong storms Monday afternoon will cool down the air. Expect temperatures to drop down to the 80s all week, with less humidity.(Sachem Patch)
- Three people rescued on Lake Ronkonkoma after sailboat overturns. The adult and two children were rescued shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday evening by Town of Islip lifeguards. No injuries were reported. (Sachem Patch)
- Brookhaven residents being asked to weigh in on redistricting maps. There will be meetings in each council district all week and you can see where they will be held by clicking the link. Redistricting occurs every ten years after the federal census to reflect the change in population. (Sachem Patch)
