🌱 Sachem Daily: TOB Awarded 'Tree City USA' + Sachem Budget Vote
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sachem.

Morning, people of Sachem! It's me again, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Sachem Daily.
First, today's weather:
Times of clouds and sun. High: 66 low: 55.
Here are the top 3 stories today in Sachem:
- Town of Brookhaven awarded 'Tree City USA' status by The Arbor Day Foundation. This is the seventh consecutive year the town has achieved the accomplishment. "Tree City USA status is achieved by meeting four core standards of sound urban forestry management: maintaining a tree board or department, having a community tree ordinance, spending at least $2 per capita on urban forestry and celebrating Arbor Day." (Press Release Desk)
- Waverly Avenue students learn research skills with the tools available to them. Fifth grade students were led by library media specialist Louann Cronin, in which they learned the ins and outs of research and gathering information using all the outlets provided to them. Students then created a five-page paper that included many different topics. (Press Release Desk)
- Sachem school budget and trustee election next Tuesday. In the election residents in the Sachem Central School District will vote on the spending plan for the 2022-2023 school year. There are also four seats open on the Sachem Board of Education. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the district's elementary schools. (Sachem Patch)
