Petillo, Rhatigan Power North Over East in Boys Lax

Two seniors led the way for the Sachem North Saturday as North used a strong second half to get past Sachem East 17-9 during Program Day for the district's boys lacrosse squads.

Cody Petillo, who is headed to Rutgers in the fall, had four goals and four assists for North (6-1 overall, 4-1 Division I). Kyle Rhatigan also found the back of the net four times for North.

Visiting East (3-4 overall, 3-2 Division I) kept things tight at the start and the half ended with North up 9-7.

Rob Neubert had three goals for East and Mike Buencamino chipped in two goals and an assist.

North, which bounced back from a tough to defending county champs West Islip, outscored East 8-2 in the second half on its way to victory and district bragging rights.
