Section XI Baseball Playoff Brackets Released

After a week of rain delays which pushed the Suffolk County baseball playoffs back three days, Section XI finally released its playoff brackets for the sport Monday morning.

Lindenhurst (AA), Sayville (A), Mattituck (B) and McGann-Mercy (C) grabbed the top seeds in their respective classifications.

In baseball, there is a unique loser's bracket feature allowing for double elimination. Playoffs start Monday at 4 p.m. for Class AA and Tuesday for Class A and Wednesday for Class B and C.

Class AA

1. Lindenhurst ... will play No. 16 Deer Park

2. Smithtown West ... will play No. 15 Northport

3. Pat-Med ... will play No. 14 Bellport

4. West Babylon ... will play No. 13 Connetquot

5. Eastport ... will play No. 12 William Floyd

6. Hauppauge ... will play No. 11 North Babylon

7. Sachem North ... will play No. 10 West Islip

8. Commack ... will play No. 9 Hills West

9. Hills West ... will travel to No. 8 Commack

10. West Islip ... will travel to No. 7 Sachem

11. North Babylon ... will travel to No. 6 Hauppauge

12. William Floyd ... will travel to No. 5 Eastport-South Manor

13. Connetquot ... will travel to No. 4 West Babylon

14. Bellport ... will travel to No. 3 Pat-Med

15. Northport ... will travel to No. 2 Smithtown West

16. Deer Park ... will travel to No. 1 Lindenhurst

Class A

1. Sayville ... will play the winner of No. 8 East Hampton-No.9 Islip out-bracket game

2. Shoreham ... will play No. 7 Bayport

3. Glenn ... will play No. 6 Mt. Sinai

4. Kings Park ... will play No. Rocky Point

5. Rocky Point ... will travel to No. 4 Kings Park

6. Mt. Sinai ... will travel to No. 3 Glenn

7. Bayport ... will travel to No. 2 Shoreham

8. East Hampton ... will play No. 9 Islip in an out-bracket game

9. Islip ... will travel to No. 8 East Hampton for an out-bracket game

Class B

1. Mattituck ... has a first round bye and will play winner of No. 2 Babylon-No. 3 Hampton Bays match up

2. Babylon ... will play No. 3 Hampton Bays in the first round

3. Hampton Bays ... will play No. 2 Babylon in the first round

Class C

1. McGann Mercy ... has a first round bye and will play winner of No. 2 Pierson-No. 3 Port Jefferson match up

2. Pierson ... will play No. 3 Port Jeff in the first round

3. Port Jefferson ... will play No. 2 Pierson in the first round
