UPDATE: Husband, Wife Struck, Killed Crossing Road In Suffolk
They were walking across Ocean Avenue between Express Drive North and Michigan Street, when they were struck just before 7 p.m., cops say.
RONKONKOMA, NY — A husband and wife were struck and killed crossing Ocean Avenue in Ronkonkoma on Saturday night, Suffolk police said.
Narciso and Maria Saravia were walking across Ocean Avenue, from east to west, between Express Drive North and Michigan Street, when they were struck by a southbound 2007 Hyundai Elantra just before 7 p.m., according to police.
Narciso Saravia, 60, of Central Islip, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said, adding, that his wife, Maria Saravia, 59, also of Central Islip, was taken by Lakeland Rescue ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The Hyundai’s driver was not injured, police said, adding that the car was impounded for a safety check.
