UPDATE: Richard Gago, 76, of Selden has been located unharmed, Suffolk police said.
SELDEN, NY — A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing 76-year-old Selden veteran who is suffering from Diabetes and has recently shown cognitive impairments, Suffolk police said.
Richard Gago, 76, was discharged from the Northport VA Medical Center at about 1:45 p.m. and he has not returned to his home, which is located on Adirondack Drive, police said. Gago, who may be wearing a Marine Corps hat, was last seen driving a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe with the New York license plate KPV 7079, according to police.

A Marine Corps decal can be found on the Hyundai’s rear window, police said.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on Gago’s location to call 911 or the 6th Squad at 631-854-8652.
