Wireless Facility Proposed for Lake Ronkonkoma

Failure to notify Village of Lake Grove delays approval.

Omnipoint Communications is planning on opening a store in the Sachem area. Their plan calls for the construction of a 15,000 square foot building to house their new Ronkonkoma location at the intersection of Hawkins and Gatelot Avenues.

This item was held over at the Town of Brookhaven until June 7 since the Village of Lake Grove needs to be notified as this business will be located within 200 feet of the Village. Another wireless provider, CMC Wireless of Medford, requested a variance to erect a 120 foot tower at their location on North Dunton Avenue. This item was also held over until June 7 for additional discussion concerning the residential buffer.

Ribeiro Estates is seeking approval for a six lot subdivision for single residential homes on Union Ave near Knickerbocker Avenue in Holbrook. Each lot will be approximately 20,000 square feet in size, which is equal to about half an acre each.
