2 South Shore Libraries Closed, Will Reopen Wednesday

Closed due to staff shortages and COVID health guidelines, the Sayville Public Library and Brentwood Public Library will reopen Wednesday.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Two public libraries on the South Shore are closed Tuesday and will reopen their doors to the public on Wednesday.

In accordance with COVID-health guidelines, Sayville Public Library and Brentwood Public Library closed their buildings from January 3 to January 4, their websites said.

The Sayville Public Library announced that staffing shortages were experienced due to COVID-19; the library will continue to offer curbside service from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and online chat and telephone service from 10a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Brentwood Public Library also stated that their online resources, online programs, telephone reference and web chat services will continue during normal hours of operations from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
