19 Coronavirus Deaths Reported At 2 Sayville Nursing Homes
Data released by the state listed the nursing home with more than five deaths related to coronavirus across New York.
SAYVILLE, NY — The coronavirus outbreak causing hundreds of death across New York and nursing homes are among those hit the hardest. The state recently released a list of nursing home with over five deaths and two Sayville facilities made the list. According to the list, Luxor Nursing and Rehabilitation on Broadway Avenue had a total of six fatalities and Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center on Elm Street has 13 as of Sunday.
The local facilities are among the eleven Long Island nursing homes have seen at least 10 deaths related to the new coronavirus outbreak. At least 1,109 nursing home residents have died from the virus in New York, according to the data, including 122 in Nassau County and 123 in Suffolk. New York City saw 680 deaths.
However it appears the data could be incomplete. The list was based on a survey sent by the state seeking details, The Associated Press reported. Nursing homes had until 2 p.m. Thursday to respond.

In total, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases hit 27,819 as of Monday morning. Sayville has 165 reported cases of COVID-19 and West Sayville has 62.
