Bayport-Blue Point High School Class Of 2020 Graduates

BAYPORT-BLUE POINT, NY — The coronavirus pandemic has put a hold on a lot of things but it couldn't stop the class of 2020 from celebrating their graduation. Bayport-Blue Point High School honored their graduating seniors with a series of four social-distance graduation ceremonies this past weekend.

On July 25, all of the ceremonies were held on the school’s football field and included speeches by principal Robert Haas, board of education president Michael Miller, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Timothy Hearney, valedictorian Douglas McDonough and salutatorian Jacob Lurie.

Each graduate was allowed to bring two guests, and family members had the opportunity to bestow Honor Medallions upon graduates who had maintained a GPA of at least 90 percent.
