Bayport Senior Housing Project Gets Green Light from Islip Town
The 148 units will be built at corner of Church Street and Sunrise Highway.

Bayport will be home to a new senior citizen condominum complex now that the Islip Town Board unanimously approved a change of zone from industrial to residential at its recent meeting.
The housing project by the Northwind Group, on nearly 24 acres at the southeast corner of Sunrise Highway and Church Street, will feature 148 two-story units priced at about $400,000 and cost $40 million to build, according to a Newsday report. Twenty percent of the unit are to be deemed affordable housing units in the complex called Bayport Meadow Estates. Construction is scheduled to begin next March and the complex will feature a putting green, pool and clubhouse facility.
