Beloved Sayville Marina Guard Retires After 19 Years

Reinald "Ray" Sanchez retired from the Town of Islip after 19 years of service as a park attendant there.

Islip, NY –Reinald "Ray" Sanchez, a cherished member of the Sayville Marina Park community, retired from the Town of Islip after 19 years of service as a park attendant there.

His wife Ida and son Carlos joined Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Town employees, to wish him well.

Ray has served in the Town of Islip as an exemplary park attendant at the Sayville Marina Park for nearly two decades, throughout that time establishing a reputation of dedication, kindness and a devotion to duty.

"Ray has provided guidance and assistance to the residents of our Town, always serving with a friendly demeanor. He leaves behind a legacy of service and devotion that has touched so many, and will be truly missed," said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
