Bohemia Law Firm Donates $2.5K To Paws Of War Supporting Veterans, First Responders
A $2,500 donation from a Bohemia-based law firm will help provide service dogs and training to veterans and first responders.
BOHEMIA, NY — A Bohemia-based law firm is giving back to those who served, donating $2,500 to a nonprofit dedicated to helping veterans and first responders through service dogs.
Attorney Todd Miller, co-founding partner of Miller & Caggiano, LLP, recently made the contribution to Paws of War, a Long Island-headquartered nonprofit that provides and trains service dogs at no cost to those in need.
The donation will directly support services including veterinary care, microchipping, training, dog food and starter kits that help veterans prepare for life with a service animal.

Miller’s connection to the organization stems from his firm’s work with first responders and veterans, making the mission of Paws of War a natural fit.
As part of the visit, U.S. Marine veteran Mike Kilano and his service dog, Nova, stopped by the firm’s Bohemia office, offering a firsthand look at the impact of the nonprofit’s work. The visit gave staff an opportunity to hear Kilano’s story and better understand how service dogs like Nova provide daily support and independence.

Suffolk County Legislator Steven Flotteron also attended, along with Kimberley Grossmann, engagement director for Paws of War.
Paws of War not only pairs veterans with service dogs, but also works to reunite military members with pets left behind during deployment. The organization also trains shelter dogs, giving them a second chance at adoption while preparing them for service roles.
All services are provided free of charge to veterans and first responders.
