Delicious anecdotes reveal forays by barge, cruise ships and a riverboat, by rental car and train with stays at two-to-five-star hotels and meals at cafes, markets to Michelin-starred restaurants. Favored recipes, lesser-known insights, and travel tips add depth. About the author Irvina Lew, an award-winning travel writer and author of the newly launched Forays in France: A Flavorful Memoir, is a longtime contributor to guidebooks, magazines and websites. Harmony Café is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing people together through wellness, nutrition education, and community programs.
Our Healthy Cooking Classes are open to anyone who wants to learn more about nutrition, healthy eating, and simple ways to add more plant-based foods into everyday meals. These free classes are made possible through a Whole Foods Foundation grant and are designed to be welcoming, educational, and hands-on.
Classes will be led by Sara Siskind and Heather Beahan, who both have strong backgrounds in nutrition and healthy cooking. Participants will learn practical cooking skills, nutrition tips, and affordable recipes they can make at home.
Each participant will prepare their own dish during class, allowing for a hands-on learning experience. Each class will also include cooking instruction, nutrition education, and a shared tasting experience.

The United States is unparalleled historically and ranks among the highest worldwide in its dependence on incarceration. (Over 2 million people in state and federal prisons and jails). Over five million people in total are under supervision by the criminal legal system. Of these, nearly two million people, disproportionately Black people, are living in prisons and jails instead of their communities. People in prison are people from our communities and deserve support, consideration and communication with the outside world.This event is free. 277 Railroad Avenue, Sayville, NY 11782.Parking is either behind the store in our well-lit parking lot or at the LIRR parking lot across the street.This event is co-sponsored by New Hour for Women and Children.New Hour for Women and Children was founded to provide meaningful support to current and formerly incarcerated women, their children and families. Metropolitans is for Mets fans, New York partisans, and everyone interested in the Mobius strip dynamic of sports and politics, the history of the national game, or the beautiful contradiction of baseball itself: a middle-class game owned by billionaires, in which the players—like the spectators—look to traverse the diamond and ultimately safely escape its many dangers.
