It’s that time of year; the mushy, rosy, chocolatety time when we swoon and spend to show our significant others just how much they mean to us. The tradition of Valentine’s Day allows us to go a little overboard; indulge in sweets and bubbly, slow dances and dinner out. But who says dinner out means you have to travel far? Let’s extend that lovey-doveyness and show our local restaurants just how much they mean to us too. Here’s a little peek at what some of Bayport-Blue Point’s favorite spots are serving up for the big day …

Taking full advantage of an entire weekend to celebrate Vday, Blue is offering up a 3 course dinner menu Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The dinner, which is $65/person (plus tax, gratuity, and beverages), will include a choice of appetizer, dinner and dessert. With a menu consisting of everything from sushi to steak, this local establishment has something for everyone. Seatings are scheduled for 4:30pm, 5:00pm, 6:30pm, 7:00pm & 9:00pm. Enjoy a DJ and dancing on Saturday at 9:00pm. Please note that the regular menu will not be available
2. Sage Café

The folks over at Sage Café would like to welcome you in for Valentine’s Day and encourage sharing by offering options from their regular menu as dinners-for-two. Ladies will also receive a complimentary rose. Sage’s menu is wide spread, with everything from soups and salads, to sandwiches and specialty entrees.
3. Grey Horse Tavern

Also encouraging diners to celebrate all weekend, Grey Horse Tavern is serving up Valentine’s Day specials Friday through Monday, as well as offering their regular delicious and eclectic menu. Specials will include lobster bisque soup, warm goat cheese and beet salad, filet mignon and jumbo shrimp surf-and-turf, sautéed lobster and wild mushroom pasta, and chocolate cheesecake with raspberry coulis. Live music Friday and Saturday night; Friday enjoy Bull Moose Party and The Electrix on Saturday. For those couples who prefer something a little less lavish, GHT also serves up a lovely brunch Sundays from 11-4.
Let’s face it, the French are known for romance. What better way to celebrate your amour than at Bayport’s well established Le Soir, known for their impeccable traditional French cuisine and romantic atmosphere. Les hommes et les femmes (the men and women) of Le Soir welcome you to fall in love all over again by candlelight as they offer their regular menu and dinner specials as well as a variety of chocolate inspired desserts.
5. The Garage Bar and Grill

For those of you looking for something a little less sappy, head on down The Garage, grab a beer and a burger and hand together TV side while enjoying 20% off for couples and chocolate covered strawberry roses for the ladies.
