Duo Charged In Suffolk County 7-Eleven Gunpoint Robberies

BREAKING: Authorities say the two men robbed a half dozen 7-Eleven stores over a 4-month period. A third suspect remains on the loose.

Two men have been charged in a string of gunpoint robberies at 7-Eleven stores in Suffolk County, federal authorities said.

Tyquan Ditdley, 18, and Terrance Hunt, 22, were arrested after they allegedly robbed two 7-Elevens within an hour early Thursday.

According to a federal criminal complaint, a group of three men, one or more of whom were armed with semi-automatic handguns, robbed six 7-Eleven stores in Suffolk between December 2016 and April 2017.

Ditdley and Hunt, both of Central Islip, were arrested after their getaway car crashed in Central Islip during a police chase, authorities said.

Ditdley and Hunt were tracked down thanks to a witness who saw the pair flee in a silver 2001 Honda CRV with North Carolina license plates after they robbed a 7-Eleven in Islandia around 12:15 a.m. Thursday, prosecutors said.

A third man who participated in the robberies, all of which occurred during the overnight hours, remains on the loose, authorities said.

Ditdley and Hunt are charged in the following 7-Eleven robberies:

  • 500 Portion Road, Holbrook; Dec. 20, 4:23 a.m.
  • 450 Peconic Street, Ronkonkoma; Jan. 11, 1:18 a.m.
  • 197 Montauk Highway, East Islip; Jan. 11, 3:45 a.m.
  • 166 E. Suffolk Ave., Central Islip; Jan. 17, 4:49 a.m.
  • 1224 Old Nichols Road, Islandia; April 13, 12:15 a.m.
  • 2715 Union Boulevard, Islip; April 13, 1:04 a.m.
