Let our local historian Gene Horton be your guide for this annual walking tour. This year, for the first time in over 20 years, the walking tour route will be markedly different. Participants will meet and leave from the front lawn of the Library, making their way down Blue Point Avenue. Included will be the history of such places as the former Blue Point Inn, Cavanaugh's, the LIRR trestle and depot, the 1929 Blue Point school building, the fire house, and more. Participants will also receive a souvenir booklet complements of the Friends of the Library. The tour willl conclude in the garden of the Library where refreshments (donated by the Fire House Deli) will be served by the Friends of the Library. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes.
Registration begins Tuesday, May 1st at 10am for residents, and Monday, May 7th.
