
Hear YE! Hear Ye! The Great South Bay Audubon Society has announced that they will hold their Annual Fundraiser Dinner on Monday, May 7,2012 at Captain Bill’s Bayview House in Bay Shore. We will have numerous door prizes, raffles and several auctions, some offering original art work. Our program will be “Owls“, Dr Robert Candido an engaging speaker has been studying the owls, kestrels and other raptors of the LI-NYC area since 1980s, when he discovered nesting Barn Owls and Great Horned Owls in Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx. In the 1990s, he began the efforts to re-introduce the Eastern Screech-owl to Central Park. All through that time he has studied the history of owls in our area. The Gala will start at 6:00pm with a cocktail hour (cash bar) to be followed by dinner and other activities at 7:00pm. Come and share this festive event with us, also a great chance to mingle with other nature and conservation minded people. The tickets are $44.00 per person.
