QUILTING EXHIBIT

Over 70 examples of beautiful quilted projects completed by 17 area women on display this weekend at the BAFFA Art Gallery located in the historic Gillette House at 47 Gillette Avenue in Sayville.  A colorful display depicts a wide range of quilting techniques.  Examples include: wall hangings, bed and lap quilts, table runners, placemats, and more.  Final weekend of "The Quilting Project" which included in addition to the exhibit, quilting classes led by Gloria Bleidner and Sandra Sievers.  Members who attended created a summer quilt using batik fabrics in various shades of watermelon, pink, green and blue alternating with a white square.  Raffle chances for the quilt will be available in early March. Proceeds will be used by BAFFA to produce and present community concerts by the Bay Area Symphony Orchestra and the Bay Area Chorus.
