Greybarn Community Makes Two $500 Donations

The Greater Sayville Food Pantry and the Cabinet for the Sick in Sayville Received Support

On behalf of its residents, the Greybarn community recently allocated two $500 donations to support the Chestene M. Coverdale Food Pantry and the Cabinet for the Sick in Sayville. Greybarn—a unique luxury rental community built by Long Islanders for Long Islanders—continues to fulfill its overarching mission to foster a sense of community to help improve the lives of its residents as well as those in the surrounding area.

“Both of these organizations tackle critical issues for local families in need” said Michael Loeffler, Greybarn’s Community Director. “We are proud to support the work they do and we hope these donations provide some relief. Helping others is about everyone pitching in and working together to better a situation. We hope this is the first of many opportunities to partner with the Chestene M. Coverdale Food Pantry and Cabinet for the Sick.”

The Greater Sayville Food Pantry provides food to residents in need for two weeks serving 350 families per month. It also gives gift cards and financial support for families to alleviate them from certain hardships and they even assist people in paying their phone bills. Furthermore, the Sayville Cabinet for the Sick lends hospital equipment free of charge to its residents so that they can continue treatments and take care of their health.

“Thank you to the Greybarn community for their generous donation and continued support to The Chestene M. Coverdale Food Pantry,” said Charlene Lehmann, Director of the food pantry. “The funds you have provided will go a long way in providing services for our less fortunate. We will be able to help with utility bills, phone bills, gasoline, as well as groceries. This year has been difficult one for so many people and with donations like this we are able to continue to help those in need.”
