Islip Town Councilman Steve Flotteron recently joined other local officials and environmentalists to congratulate two winners of the Community Development Corporation of Long Island’s (CDCLI) Energize Long Island Contest.
Cynthia Theofel and Kimberly Birnholz each won a $500 check for renovating their homes in an innovative and environmentally-friendly manner. Now they are each entered in CDCLI’s grand prize contest, which could award up to $15,000.
“Making these kinds of investments into our homes can have an enormous impact not just on our energy bills, but also on our local economy,” said Councilman Flotteron. “Green home renovation projects put local contractors to work and help conserve resources.”
For more information about entering the contest, visit www.longislandgreenhomes.org or call Islip’s Long Island Green Homes office at 631-245-6918.
