The library will host a special presentation on Wednesday, October 7 from 7:00-8:30pm. Former Newsday reporter Bill Blyer will speak on fascinating Long Island events, the 1860 presidential campaign, wartime experiences of Long Islanders in the field and at home and the last local veteran’s death in 1945. Mr. Blyer’s book Long Island and the Civil War (co-authored with Harrison Hunt) will be available for purchase after the program. The library is located at 760 Ocean Avenue, Bohemia.
