Man Charged With BWI After Crashing Boat In Bay; 2 Hurt
A man was arrested Thursday evening for boating while intoxicated, after he crashed his boat into a jetty, police say.

SAYVILLE, NY — A Patchogue man was arrested Thursday evening and charged with boating while intoxicated after he crashed his boat into a jetty in Great South Bay off Sayville, Suffolk County police said.
William Brosveld, 46, was operating a 2007 Century when he crashed into a jetty in the Great South Bay by 80 Browns River Road at about 5:50 p.m., police said. The Suffolk County Police Department's marine bureau officers responded and arrested Brosveld, authorities said.
Brosveld was charged with operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol and will be arraigned at a later date, police said.

Sayville Fire Department, Sayville Community Ambulance, Suffolk County Fire Rescue Bay Shore Fire Department, Bayport Fire Department, Bluepoint Fire Department, Islip Fire Department were also on the scene, Community Ambulance said.
Brosveld and his passenger, an adult man, were taken to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
