Mosquito Spraying at Yacht Club, Golf Course & Recreation Areas Today

County vector control activities will run from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. at dozens of town sites.

Salt marshes near the Sayville Yacht Club in Blue Point, the West Sayville Golf Course and the West Oak Recreation area in West Sayville will be treated by low altitude mosquito spraying activity today by the Suffolk County Department of Public Works’ Division of Vector Control.

The goal of the spraying effort taking place between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m., which will also include numerous other town beaches and park areas, is to reduce mosquito larvae populations.

The liquid application treatment is an Altosid liquid concentrate (methoprene) and Vectobac 12 AS (Bti).
