Police say intended target was player's brother riding in car during drive-by in Staten Island.

A Ronkonkoma resident who played a number of years with the Milwaukee Brewers and Detroit Tigers is home resting after suffering a gunshot wound to the neck in a drive-by shooting in Staten Island, reports say.
Duane Earl Singleton, a center fielder in the big leagues for three years, was reportedly driving a black SUV with his brother in the passenger seat in the West Brighton section of Staten Island on Saturday night when a gray sedan pulled up beside him at a red light and opened fire.
The Advance said police have the name of a "person of interest" in the shooting and that cops believe Singleton's brother was the intended target, after an earlier confrontation he had during a dice game.
The report says Singleton spends his weekends in Ronkonkoma coaching baseball.
