Parrot Head Fun Closes Sayville Parking Lots Early

Despite threatening clouds and predicted thunderstorms, preparations are going on this morning in Sayville for the annual Margaretaville event which draws thousands of Jimmy Buffet fans to Sayville every August.

The mini Parrot Head convention kicks off at 7 p.m. tonight in the lot on the east side of Gillette Avenue and as of 9 a.m. the big lot was blocked off with sawhorses, portable lavatories were in place and there was even a tent set up already.

Residents would be advised to avoid Gillette and Candee Avenue tonight as there is also a Friday Family Night event at the Common Ground starting at 6:30. Let's hope the predicted storms hold off.
