The Connetquot Public Library will host a special presentation on Tuesday, April 28 from 7:00-8:30pm. One of the most unusual chapters of Oakdale history i the Peace Haven Years occurred when James B Schafer founder of the Royal Fraternity of Master Metaphysicians purchased the former Vanderbilt Mansion as a retreat for his followers. Diane Holliday, local author and Dowling College archivist will speak on the interesting chapter in local history. The library is located at 760 Ocean Avenue, Bohemia.
