During the month of May, Friendly’s hosted an online “Build Your Own Burger” contest where fans of Friendly’s could submit their own burger creation for the chance to compete at the Burger Bash.
One of the many contestants was Sean Barnes of Sayville who makes what he calls a “Da Billion Dolla Burguh.”
Friendly’s then chose the top three contestants, including Sean, to attend the Burger Bash in Massapequa Park on June 9 and create their burgers on-site for a panel of local celebrity judges, who taste-tested and rated each burger on presentation, taste and creativity to select the winner.
Sean’s “Da Billion Dolla Burguh” creation, which featured a beef patty and all white meat turkey burger on a ciabatta roll with American, cheddar and Swiss cheese, loaded with onion rings, a fried egg, bacon, kosher dill pickles, lettuce, tomato and mayo topped with Sean’s special sauce of buffalo sauce, ranch dressing and ketchup, was named the third place winner.
