Sayville Chamber To Host Downtown Cleanup And Plant Sale
Spring Cleanup for Earth Day and Native Plant Sale will both take place on Saturday in Sayville.
SAYVILLE, NY —Earth Day celebrations are officially coming to Sayville on Saturday.
Legislator Anthony Picirillo, the Greater Sayville Chamber, the Greater Sayville Civic and The Rotary Club of Sayville, are hosting not one but two events to show our planet love.
Spring Cleanup for Earth Day will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will meet at the Sayville Chamber House, located at 175 N Main St. Participants will then help clean and remove litter in downtown Sayville, including behind both sides of Main Street, Browns Lot, Gillette Park, and Railroad Ave.

Families, scouts and students who need community service hours are encouraged to attend.
At the same time, the Chamber is partnering with the Long Island Conservancy to host their Native Plant Sale, also at the Sayville Chamber House. The conservancy will be selling native plants, offering free samples, as well as speaking with local residents about their importance for local wildlife.

"We are also excited to partner with the Long Island Conservancy and have native plantings become a part of not only the community but Main Street and our local parks and museums," said Sayville Chamber of Commerce President Eileen Tyznar. "This day is filled with so many activities to celebrate what Earth Day really means."
They will be also seeking volunteers and interns.
