Sayville 'Pride Ride' Event Set For June

SAYVILLE, NY — The Transgender Resource Center of Long Island will be hosting a "Pride Ride" event in Sayville this month. The event will take place on Saturday, June 20 starting at 10 a.m. on at the corner of Depot Street and Greene Avenue. The procession will begin at 11 a.m.

The line will begin on the east side of Greene Avenue facing north. Attendees are asked to park directly behind the last car in the lineup. If the east side of the street is filled, the line up will continue on the west side facing south. Also, those who attend are asked not to block any driveways to any residences or parking lots. The procession will then end at Fire Island Ferry on River Road.

A member of the event staff will approach all cars at a safe distance to confirm attendees' information and assign a number to participate in the contest.

The event is a pride themed car ride and participant are asked to observe social distancing guidelines as outlined by the Centers of Disease Control will includes the use of masks and staying six feet apart when not inside a vehicle. Attendees are permitted to stand outside their cars once in the lineup before the start of the event as long as they observe the guidelines.

While parade floats are not allowed, guests can decorate their cars.
