Thursday, Nov. 4: Islip and Brookhaven Towns Present their 2011 Budgets

Both Islip and Brookhaven towns will be presenting their respective budgets for  2011 at special meetings Thursday, Nov. 4, and a Senior Flex class offered at the library, along with Open Mic Night and Comedy Night at local venues provide lots of chances to have fun locally today.

• This morning marks the first in a series of Senior Flex classes offered at the . Beginning Nov. 4 at 10 a.m., seniors can participate in this program, which features exercises designed for the less agile. A fee is due at in-person registration. 

• The Islip Town Board is holding a budget hearing at Islip Town Hall, 655 Main St., Islip, 10:30 a.m.

• There is a Brookhaven Town work session meeting set to take place from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Brookhaven Town Hall, 1 Independence Hill, Farmingville.

• Today, at 5:30 p.m., Brookhaven Town Supervisor Mark Lesko will present the 2011 town budget at a special board meeting.
• The last town meeting scheduled for Thursday is Islip Town's planning board session, which starts at 7:30 pm. at Islip Town Hall.

• It's Comedy Night at and Open Mic Night at the , beginning at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively.
